All Grown Up

After many beers Boomie was ready for her first ride on 4th of July. I was very nervous that her massive 150lb self would knock me down, but I was able to control her until... we hit a pot hole and the trailer dragged on the ground (damn Oakland).

I was almost ready to throw in the towel, but the very helpful team at Wandertec informed me that I had the trailer on wrong. What a relief!

After fixing the trailer I was able to pull off a successful test ride. Now she is ready for her first BIKE PARTY! ROAR!!!

Come ride with us this Friday, July 8th at the East Bay Bike Party meeting at Lake Merritt BART at 8pm.

And she carries hula hoops too!

She's Alive!

How do you ground electricity if the power is moving? After asking several electricians and reading numerous posts on the web, we concluded that a small grounding mount and a hefty copper wire will do the job.

Turning her on for the first time was such a thrill. There is so much power on this trailer! We started out small by running the 4lb LED star globe on its own. The volt meter held strong, so we added the speaker and blasted SomaFM with ease.

Now that her heart and soul are healthy, her body is under construction. The outer shell will be made out of the same plywood as the base and inverter case. Customized cuts, fuzzy fabric, and more lights will make her gorgeous!
